quick update...

I ran out to the Olympic Peninsula over the weekend, to a small town called Forks.  I stayed the night and got up early the next day for a chance at some steelhead on the Sol Duc River.  The fishing wasn't great but I was rewarded with some awesome scenery and met some very nice people along the way.  My guide for the day was Jim Kerr.  He runs Rain Coast Guides and has a vast knowledge of the area and it's rivers, and there are a lot of them.

Maisy and Heather got to spend Sunday together.  They drove down to the Tacoma area to visit a good friend that just had a baby.  She even took Gus along so he could play with their Doberman, and from what I understand he was a bigger wuss than Gus!  He was sure pooped that night!

a few shots I took with the phone...

This was the scene in Forks, this time of year the town gets a lot more business from fishermen than sightseers.  The parking lot was full of rafts and drift boats...

This was the scene on the river.  One of the many feeder creeks on our float... some of them were as big as the Weber River we used to fish in Utah...

At the put in on the Bogachiel River...
